The  Australian Taxation Office is getting very vigilant now regarding personal superannuation contributions and the deductions.

Please note: You must complete a ‘Notice of Intent to Claim Form’ with your superfund provider when putting money into super.

You will need to submit the Notice of intent to claim a deduction form (Notice of intent) with your superfund provider before you complete your tax return or before 30 June of the financial year following the year you contributed (whichever occurs earlier).

Your superfund should be communicating this with you but we are finding this is not happening.

If you do not the Australian Taxation Office will knock back the tax deduction.
